1993 TOPPS FINEST: PAGING Nos. 100-108

THE STARS COME OUT TO PLAY ON THIS PAGE.

HALL OF FAMERS

  • #100 Dennis Eckersley was inducted in 2004 on the first ballot with 83.2 percent of the vote; #102 Frank Thomas in '14 on the first ballot with 83.7 percent; #105 Ryne Sandberg in '05 on the third ballot with 76.2 percent; and #107 Nolan Ryan in '99 on the first ballot with 98.8 percent.

FINEST OF THE NINE

  • Ryan pitched for 27 years and struck out a record 5,714 batters, won 324 games and threw seven no-hitters. He rises to the top on a star-studded page of cards.

FINEST MOMENT

  • The Sandberg Game from '84 showcased a player on national TV like never before. Sandberg became a superstar on this NBC Game of the Week against the Cardinals. He went 5-for-7 with seven RBI and homered to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and homered again in the 10th to force another tie. The Cubs won the game in the 11th inning.

DESIGNED TO THE NINES

  • #106 Fred McGriff's card really pops. The pinstripes, the slight blur of the bat and the perfect centering is, well, perfect.
